Endicott Men’s Basketball – Lynn Duo Garner Postseason Awards, Hill Named CCC Rookie Of the Year

BEVERLY  Endicott men’s basketball student-athletes Jeff Hill (Lynn) and Jalen Echevarria (Lynn) have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Hill was named the CCC Rookie of the Year to headline the duo.

He is the sixth student-athlete in program history to receive conference Rookie of the Year accolades joining Echevarria (2019-20), Andre Makris ’15 (2011-12), Jamal Francis ’02 (1998-99), and Endicott Hall of Famers Nemanja Marinkovic ’07 (2003-04) and Eric Simonelli ’01 (1997-98) on the list.

Meanwhile, Echeverria claimed his second career All-CCC First Team selection to round out the list of award winners for the Gulls this season.

JEFF HILL | FR. | LYNN

In 25 games played (20 starts), Hill averaged 13.7 points per game (41.4 FG%, 34.4 3PT%, 88.3 FT%), 2.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.0 steals in 27.2 minutes per contest.

Hill’s CCC ranks this season include the following categories/numbers: points (343, 17th), points per game (17th), points per 40 minutes (20.2, 17th), field goals made (121, 18th), field goal percentage (25th), three-point field goals made (33, 23rd), three-point field goal percentage (18th), free throws made (68, 10th), and free throw percentage (3rd).

Hill also produced 20 double-digit scoring games, including two contests where he eclipsed the 20-point plateau, and led the team in scoring six times.

He set his career-high against then No. 14 Middlebury with a 24-point effort on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor (58.8%) on November 27, 2022.

Of the six Rookie of the Year honorees in program history, Hill’s freshman campaign ranks third all-time in points per game behind Simonelli (16.8) and Echevarria (15.2).

JALEN ECHEVARRIA | SR. | LYNN

In 27 games played (all starts), Echevarria averaged 19.6 points per game (42.4 FG%, 28.7 3PT%, 81.5 FT%), 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in 33.9 minutes per contest.

Echevarria’s CCC ranks this season include the following categories/numbers: points (529, 2nd), points per game (3rd), points per 40 minutes (23.1, 8th), field goals made (188, 1st), field goal percentage (23rd), three-pointers made (56, 6th), three-point field goal percentage (30th), free throws made (97, 4th), free throw percentage (6th), assists (80, 9th), and steals (34, 12th).
