Melrose Police Department Seeking Public Assistance in Early Morning Armed Robbery

MELROSE — Chief Kevin Faller and the Melrose Police Department are seeking public assistance as they investigate an armed robbery that occurred early Thursday morning.

On Thursday, Oct. 3 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Melrose Police were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station, 860 Main St. for reports of an armed robbery.

A preliminary investigation determined that a male suspect allegedly robbed the gas station with a knife and then fled the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

The suspect took nicotine vape devices and cash from the register.

The suspect was described as a black male, roughly 5-foot-5, to 5-foot-7 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, white sneakers, and a medical mask.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the area and were unable to find the suspect.
