MARBLEHEAD – Marblehead football scored what turned out to be the game winning touchdown with time running out in the first half. Quarterback Colt Wales rolled to his right and found Brooks Keefe a few yards ahead who caught the ball and ran it into the endzone for a 29 yard score. Marblehead led at the half (14-0) Marblehead’s first score in the first quarter was a 20-yard pass from Wales to Andy Potter. Greg Motorny kicked both extra points and later added a 28 -yard field goal with 4:16 to play in the game to make the score 17-7. The Danvers touchdown came early in the fourth quarter on a 6-yard quarterback keeper by Travis Voisine. There are postgame interviews with Marblehead coach Jim Rudloff, Danvers coach Ryan Nolan and Marblehead’s Brooks Keefe.
Game Notes: Both Marblehead quarterbacks played well, (Colt Wales & Finn Gallop)
Danvers running back Owen Gasinowski ran well, however the Marblehead defense was able to shut down the big plays.
