North Shore Community College (NSCC) has announced that Lieutenant Kevin Marshall, of Marblehead, has been promoted to Deputy Chief of NSCC’s Police Department, effective immediately.
Marshall has been a member of NSCC’s Police Department since 2022, most recently serving as Lieutenant and the Community Resource Officer.
Prior to joining NSCC, Lt. Marshall was a 20-year veteran of the Nantucket Police Department where he developed and oversaw a community service unit which focused on suicide prevention and mental health. He received a Commonwealth of MA Senate Citation for Leadership in Suicide Prevention in 2018 as well as other community service awards. He is certified by Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) International. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Police Science from Northeastern University.
“Kevin is a veteran leader with the experience and skills the role demands. He is detail-oriented, innovative, and has a great track record for getting things done,” said NSCC Police Chief David Cook.
“In his new role, his primary responsibilities will be to support the daily operations and administrative responsibilities of the police department. He will also serve as Accreditation Manager for the MA Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC) accreditation process, a program that focuses on professional standards that provide the agency with best practices related to life, health, and safety procedures.”

A swearing-in ceremony will be held at a future date, yet to be determined, to celebrate Deputy Chief Marshall’s promotion and to recognize recent new hires in NSCC’s Police Departmen
