MANCHESTERBYTHESEA – Did you know that it takes a village? In Manchester, we are fortunate to have all town departments, especially the Police and Fire Departments, working together cohesively to prepare for, train for, and respond to any emergencies that arise. Recently, Sergeant Newton of the Manchester Police worked tirelessly to modify the UTV used by Emergency Management (Police and Fire) by installing lights, sirens, radio communications, an iPad mount, and a secure key system for our Knox box key. Firefighter Nate Campbell installed a new winch as well as conducted preventative maintenance on this unit. Performing this type of work in-house saves the town valuable money. This is just one example of how our public safety departments work in unison daily! This unit is used for emergencies in our woods and beaches.
