MANCHESTERBYTHESEA – Chief of Department James McNeilly hah announced that the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, along with the Department of Fire Services (DFS), has awarded the Manchester Fire Department $15,499.10 in funding for State Fiscal Year 2025 through the Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program.
This funding will enhance our capabilities by equipping our UTV with a portable pump to improve wildfire response efforts. Additionally, we will provide each firefighter with auto-extrication gloves, acquire a ‘rescue wheel’ to aid in extricating individuals from uneven terrain and obtain a portable inflatable rescue boat for water and ice rescues.
The federal and state grant awards received over the past several years have ensured our firefighters are equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to deliver the high level of care and service that our residents expect and deserve.
We extend our gratitude to our state and local representatives for their continued support.
