Superintendent Pam Beaudoin and Principal Joanne Maino are pleased to share that two Manchester Essex Regional Middle School (MERMS) students have been selected to be Project 351 ambassadors. Grade 8 students Morgan Holmes and Thomas Chrzanowski will work with Project 351, a non-profit organization that empowers a youth-led movement for change. Cities and towns across Massachusetts each elect a grade 8 student or students who represent the qualities of kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude, as well as an exemplary ethic of service. Holmes and Chrzanowski were selected to be ambassadors out of all Grade 8 students by their team of teachers and administrators. The pair will now enter the Ambassador Journey, a year-long service and leadership development program where they will create projects to serve the MERMS community through hands-on learning experiences and training. Principal Maino and MERMS teachers describe Holmes and Chraznowski as great students and leaders, “Thomas and Morgan represent what is best about Middle School students,” Maino said. “They are compassionate and engaged leaders who want to make the world a better place. We love that Project 351 gives them an opportunity to be positively involved in their community.” Holmes and Chrzanowski will participate in a launch day training and spend a weekend completing service projects before incorporating their knowledge into initiatives that positively serve the community. |
