Manchester Essex Regional High School Students Hold Food Drive to Support Beverly Bootstraps

Superintendent Pamela Beaudoin, Principal Julie Sgroi, and Athletic Director Cami Molinare share that a student-led food drive collected 357 pounds of food for Beverly Bootstraps.

The food drive was organized by junior Libby McKinnon, who volunteers at Beverly Bootstraps. McKinnon, Cole Cote, Hannah Davis, Timothy Wonson, and Bjorn Arnason collected items at the Manchester Essex football game against Greater Lowell Regional Technical School last month. Students and supporters were asked to donate non-perishable food items.

“We could not be more grateful for the contributions from the Manchester, Essex and Greater Lowell community members. We’d also like to thank Hannah, Libby, Cole, Tim and Bjorn for helping collect donations,” Molinare said.

Last spring McKinnon led a food drive among student-athletes that collected 162 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable items.

“The Athletic Department is proud of our partnership with Beverly Bootstraps and will continue to work with them to help support the Beverly, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, and Wenham communities,” Molinare said.
