Manchester-Essex Baseball Beats Rockport 6-3 Today – Onto the D4 North Championship Game

LYNN – (Videos & Photos) The Manchester-Essex baseball team is headed to the MIAA D4 North Title game on the strength of today’s 6-3 win over Cape Ann League rival Rockport. It was the fourth time this year the Hornets beat the Vikings. Rockport broke out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and a single run in the fourth inning. Manchester-Essex notched 3 unearned runs in the fourth inning, a single run in the fifth, and two more in the sixth inning. ME pitcher Mitch Paccone earned the win, coming in for relief pitching 3 2/3 innings of hitless ball. Robert Sarmanian knocked a two run triple to left field in the 6th inning to ice the win.
