MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Chief Todd Fitzgerald reports that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department is investigating a stabbing and where a suspect was arrested Sunday night. |
At approximately 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Manchester-by-the-Sea Police responded to the area of School Street and North Street for a report of a man who had been stabbed. |
Upon arrival, officers located a man in his mid-30s who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The man was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening. |
Through the subsequent investigation, a male suspect was arrested by Revere Police later Sunday night. |
The stabbing is believed to have taken place inside a vehicle as it was leaving Masconomo Park in Manchester-by-the-Sea, not far from where the victim was located. |
Residents likely noticed a large police presence in the area throughout the evening, but Chief Fitzgerald would like to notify residents that there is no current danger to the public. |
The incident remains under active investigation by Manchester-by-the-Sea Police and further information, including the identity of the suspect and charges, will be made available on Monday. |
