LYNN (Videos – Photos) #8 seeded Lynn Tech (18-2) battled the entire evening in a tight game with #9 seeded Georgetown (16-6) before pulling out a 60-56 win in the MIAA D4 tournament. Tech moves onto the elite 8 and will play on Friday at #1 seeded Wareham. Lynn Tech was led by an 18-point / 20 rebound performance from senior center Ederick Gonzalez. Jayden Welch added 12-points. Gonzalez was a presence inside at both ends of the court. Travis Sanchez and Andy Batista (4-assists) each added 10-points. Georgetown’s senior captain Jackson Lasquade the game’s top scorer with 24-points. Midway through the third quarter Lynn Tech opened up a five point lead (32-27) but from there Gerogetown battled back.and the game went back and forth until midway through the fourth quarter when Tech took a 51-59 lead never trailed again. Techs biggest lead of 7-points (56-49) came with 1:38 to play when Ederick Gonzalez grabbed a shot deflection and popped in a lay-up. Georgetown did close to within 2 points (59-56) less than a minute to play.
