On Sunday at approximately 12:00 p.m., Trooper Sergio Figueiredo of the State Police Sturbridge Barracks stopped a Pontiac Bonneville on Interstate 84 Eastbound in the town of Sturbridge for a motor vehicle violation.
As a result of an investigation, with the assistance of Trooper Nicholas Dumas, both occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of approximately 85 grams of Cocaine. The driver, identified as JEANNIE J. ORTIZ, 41, of Stoughton, and passenger, DOMINGO ORTIZ, 51, of Lynn, were both placed under arrest and brought to the Sturbridge Barracks for booking.
Both were charged with the following:
- Trafficking in cocaine
- Conspiracy to violate drug law
JEANNIE ORTIZ was also issued a citation for a motor vehicle violation. Both were each held on $25,000 bail, pending arraignment Monday in Dudley District Court.
