PEABODY – A 21-point explosion by the Peabody Tanners (2-3, 1-2) in the second quarter propelled them to a 28-0 win over the Lynn Classical Rams (1-4, 0-2) tonight in Peabody. Junior Noah Freedman (13 carries, 94 yards) opened the scoring with a 3 yd TD plunge with 9:33 left to go in the half. Senior RB Jake Doherty scored on an 11 yard pass from senior QB Matt D’Amato with 4:46 left in the half; and junior RB Eric DeMayo (7 carries, 70 yards) ran it in from 2 yards away with :58 left in the first half to give Peabody a 21-0 lead at the break.
Doherty added a 14 yard TD early in the the third quarter to finish the scoring.
Peabody amassed 300 yards of total offense, while holding Classical to under 100.
Peabody hosts Lynn English next Friday night and Classical returns to Manning Field to face high-flying Marblehead
