Prateek Poddar came to the attention of Unfinished Music after a recent performance at Katrina’s in Gloucester.
Prateek Poddar is a singer-songwriter from Weston, Massachusetts. He grew up surrounded by music, and has been playing one instrument or another since the age of four. At the age of 11, he picked up the guitar and quickly gravitated towards artists such as AC/DC, Eric Clapton, and Green Day. Several years later, he started writing songs that reflected his love of classic folk artists such as Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Simon and Garfunkel, as well as contemporary artists such as Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams. In February 2016, he recorded his first EP, “Walking in My Sleep,” in a bedroom with only his guitar, harmonicas, and two microphones. Prateek can generally be found playing music around the Greater Boston Area, or simply having a beer in one of his favorite bars.
