Duxbury 41, Beverly 14 – MIAA Division 2 State Semi Final – Bobby Maimaron 3 TDs Rushing, 2 TDs Passing – Post Game Videos

LOWELL – (Post Game VIdeos)

From the Boston Globe:

LOWELL — There only stands one last hurdle between the Duxbury football team and a state title.

Led by senior quarterback Bobby Maimaron, the Division 2 South champion Dragons traveled to Cawley Stadium Saturday afternoon and took care of business, defeating North champion Beverly, 41-14, in the state semifinals.

Duxbury (11-0) has a Dec. 3 date with Shrewsbury at Gillette Stadium in the Division 2 Super Bowl as it looks for the program’s first state championship since 2011.

Maimaron (10-for-19 passing, 231 yards, 3 TDs, and 8 rushes for 65 yards and 2 TDs) entered the game as the state’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and added to that and more. Despite an interception by Beverly senior Johnny Jones on the first possession, the Duxbury defense forced a turnover at Duxbury’s 30-yard line. Three plays later, Maimaron hit junior James Miele for a 33-yard touchdown.
