BEVERLY – (Radio & Videos) Beverly High School opened the 2016 season with a 24-0 win over Wakefield High School at Hurd Stadium this afternoon. Kevin Flaherty scored two touchdowns, one a first quarter pass from quarterback Kevin Morency, the second a 1 yard rush in the 4th quarter. Hugh Calice from 10 yards out for the other Beverly touchdown. Luke Samperi kicked a 41 yard field goal near the end of the first half. Today’s Beverly win provided first year coach Andrew Morency his first as head coach at Beverly. Next week Beverly will Gloucester in an MSO broadcast game while Wakefield will host Marblehead.
