IPSWICH – The Ipswich Public Health Department and Director of Public Health Colleen Fermon share that free at-home COVID-19 test kits are available to residents.
Residents can receive CareStart COVID-19 Antigen Home Tests in the Public Health Department, Council on Aging and Town Manager offices located in Town Hall, 25 Green St., as well as the Ipswich Public Library, 25 North Main St.
Each test kit contains two tests. Test kits will be available on a first-come first-served basis and are limited to two kits per person.
Community members should test themselves for COVID-19 if they are developing symptoms, even if they are mild, or at least six days after exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, new loss of taste or smell, headache, sore throat and congestion.
The Department would like to remind residents to be mindful of the community while picking up tests. Arrange for someone else to collect a test for you or wear personal protective equipment if you have been exposed to the virus.
