Marianne Dyson is an award-winning author of science books for children and young adults. She has also published poetry and science fiction stories and has written a fascinating memoir, A Passion for Space, Adventures of a Pioneering Female Flight Controller. She recounts overcoming obstacles in becoming a flight controller in the Space Shuttle era and comments on some of the amazing accomplishments of what went on in Mission Control in our radio interview below.
She is also the co-author of Welcome to Mars, Making a Home on the Red Planet, with astronaut Buzz Aldrin
