LAWRENCE – Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide after an individual was found unresponsive in a Lawrence home on Tuesday morning, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lawrence Acting Chief of Police William Castro announced.
On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at approximately 7:48 a.m., the Lawrence Police Department received a “check the well-being” call for an individual said to be in the basement apartment located at 243 Salem St. in Lawrence, MA.
Upon arrival, officers from the LPD discovered an unresponsive individual who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office were notified and the death is being investigated by members of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office SPDU and the Lawrence Police Department as an apparent homicide. Investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
