GLOUCESTER – The Gloucester Fishermen improved to 4-5 with a 2-1 win over Rockport (4-3-1) in a fast-paced game played at the Talbot Rink. Gloucester scored in the first and third periods to build a 2-0 lead before Rockport got on the board with just 50 seconds left in the game. EJ Field tucked home a Sal Constanzo pass at 13:10 of the first period and Constanzo scored at 7:32 of the third to get the game-winner. Rockport defenseman Jared English blasted home a slap shot at 14:10 of the third to cut the Gloucester lead in half before time ran out.
Rockport’s sophomore goalie Max Kivekas was the “star of the game,” according to Gloucester coach Sean Lyons, turning aside 36 shots by the Fishermen.
