High School Baseball Game Report: Marblehead 2, Saugus 0

From Marblehead High School baseball coach Mike Giardi:

This game had been suspended on Monday tied 0-0 in the fourth inning due to inclement weather.

While Senior Jacob Sherf had started the game the day before, it was junior reliever Bjorn Pluss who got the win as he threw a three pitch inning yesterday and went 2 more innings today.

Sherf went 3 innings, 1 hit, 1 BB, 7 K’s

Pluss got the win with 3 innings, 2 hits, 1 BB, 1 K.

Junior James Doody came in for the 7th and earned the save with three up and three down.

 

Offensively both teams had difficulty…Marblehead only had 4 hits and Saugus only had 3.

The biggest hit of the game was senior Sami Loughlin 2B that drove in Schuyler Schmitt in the 6th.

Shane Keough then had an fielders choice that later led to Loughlin scoring from 3rd.

 

The Magicians end the regular season 13-4 and now wait to see where they will be in the MIAA Tournament  (Division 2 North).
