The Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Haverhill Police and the Essex State Police Detective Unit are investigating a fatal assault.
At approximately 4:31 pm on Thursday, March 11, Haverhill Police responded to 127 Winter Street for a reported altercation. They found a 34-year old Haverhill man suffering from blunt force trauma. He was transported to a local hospital and then med-flighted to a Boston hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Dieryk Garcia, 35, of Haverhill was arrested and charged with murder. He will be arraigned tomorrow in Haverhill District Court.
The matter remains under investigation.
