Podcast: Hamilton, MA Native Earns Way Back to Big Leagues as New England Revolution Are One Win Away from Finals

FOXBOUROUGH – Hamilton, MA native Justin Rennick, is a major league soccer player with the New England Revolution.  The Revs are one win away from playing in the Major League Soccer Cup Final, with two upset road wins in the playoffs so far.

From Harold Rivera, Communications coordinator for the Revs:

Justin was with the Revolution’s first team from January preseason camp through the first week of September. He went to the Revolution’s second team, New England Revolution II, and played with them through October before re-joining the first team for the playoffs. With the Revolution II, Justin scored four goals and logged one assist in eight games, all starts. His four goals were tied for the team lead despite only playing roughly half the season with the team. This year was the Revolution II’s inaugural season, so pretty cool to see Justin do so well with the new team. Justin was also tied for second on the team with seven shots on target and three of his four goals were game-winners.

Justin has made two appearances off the bench in the postseason. He hasn’t played a lot of minutes but these are his first ever appearances in the MLS Cup Playoffs. He became the third Revolution Homegrown Player in Revolution history to appear in a postseason match. A Homegrown Player is a player that comes up through the Revolution’s youth academy and signs a contract with the professional team.
