GLOUCESTER – State and local police are at the scene at 6 Munsey Lane in Gloucester where a man has allegedly threatened to harm himself and others. The Office of Mayor Sefatia Romeo-Theken has issued the following Emergency Alert via Face Book:
To the Citizens of the Munsey Lane Area
The Gloucester Police Department and the Northeast Law Enforcement Council are on scene at 6 Munsey Lane with a barricaded suspect.
The suspect is believed to be alone in the house, but there is adequate law enforcement personnel on scene to assure that there is no danger to the general public.
The area is cordoned off and no one should attempt to access this area. Again, the situation is on-going, but please do not access this area until an all clear is provided.
Professional law enforcement negotiators are on scene to bring this situation to a peaceful resolution.
