GLOUCESTER 一 Chief Edward G. Conley reports that the Gloucester Police Department is investigating two armed robberies on consecutive days. |
On Sunday, July 10, at approximately 4:31 p.m., Gloucester Police responded to Yellow Sub, 73 Pleasant St. for a report of an armed robbery. Following an on-scene investigation, detectives determined that a male suspect entered the store and showed a machete. |
Today, at 10:47 a.m., Gloucester Police were dispatched to the Speedway gas station at 354 Main St. for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect was described as a white male, who was approximately 5-feet-7-inches tall with a slim build and wearing a black bandana covering his face. The suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded money and cigarettes from an employee before fleeing on foot. |
The investigation into both incidents remains ongoing at this time. Gloucester Police cannot definitively say whether there is any connection between the two robberies at this stage of the investigation. |
