Gloucester Police Investigating Multiple Instances of Vandalism at Local Marina

GLOUCESTER — Chief Edward Conley reports that the Gloucester Police Department is investigating a report of vandalism to multiple fishing boats from over the weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9:50 a.m., police were dispatched to Captain Joe’s Marina, 95 East Main St. Officers arrived and were met by two victims who said three of their family’s boats had been vandalized in the marina.

Police found that padlocks had been taken off of cabin doors, holes had been drilled in the hull and the bilge pumps had been purposely disabled on three boats. The vandalism resulted in several thousand dollars in damage to each boat.

The victims discovered the vandalism after being notified by another fisherman that the boat was sitting low in the water.
