
GLOUCESTER — According to Assistant Fire Chief Robert Rivas,Gloucester Firefighter Patrick Legro was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Lt. Legro is a Tewksbury native who joined the Gloucester Fire Department in 2013 after earning his EMT and Paramedic certifications, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
He was initially assigned to Rescue 1, and has since worked in numerous fire stations around the city. He was promoted to temporary lieutenant in August and earned a permanent promotion that went into effect this week.
Lt. Legro will now serve on Ladder 1 in Group 3, based at Fire Headquarters. He was also selected to be part of the District 6 HazMat Team, which responds to hazmat incidents around the entire region.
He lives in Groveland with his wife Kristen, 6-year-old son Colin and 4-year-old daughter Emilia Rae.
“Lt. Legro is a highly qualified, dedicated firefighter, and I look forward to seeing where else his career will take him,” said Assistant Chief Rivas.
