GLOUCESTER — Fire Chief Eric Smith is pleased to share that once again members of the Gloucester Fire Department will be participating in the department’s annual caroling event.

The caroling will take place on Friday, Dec. 20. The event will include off-duty Gloucester Firefighters traveling around the city throughout the day to sing to residents and community members.

Along their route, members will stop at several local nursing homes, elder care programs, school programs, daycares, businesses, the Rose Baker Senior Center on Manuel F. Lewis Street, and City Hall.

Members will be in their formal uniforms and will sing holiday songs such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Joy to the World, and more.

Gloucester Fire has participated in caroling for over 60 years.

“Our firefighters continue to do great work both on and off duty, as they are constantly giving back to our community,” said Chief Eric Smith. “I am very proud of the good work they do, and caroling is another way our members bring joy to our community during the holidays.”
