Gloucester Fire Department Extinguishes Structure Fire

GLOUCESTER — Fire Chief Eric Smith reports that the Gloucester Fire Department extinguished a structure fire on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, Aug. 16, at approximately 3:29 p.m., the Gloucester Fire Department was called to 57 Holly St. for a report of a structure fire.

Companies arrived to find fire showing from a window, and quickly stretched a hose line into the home to knock down the fire by about 3:45 p.m. There were no reported injuries.

The family that lives in the home will be displaced.

Firefighters from Rockport covered Gloucester stations while companies battled the fire, and Beauport Ambulance was on standby in the area. The Rehab 5 truck also provided support at the scene.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Gloucester Fire Department.
