2-Alarm Fire at Waterfront Property on Woodward Avenue

GLOUCESTER — Fire Chief Eric Smith reports that the Gloucester Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a waterfront property on Woodward Avenue on Saturday.

 

On Saturday, July 26, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Gloucester Fire Department was called to a two-story home on Woodward Avenue near Essex Avenue, finding heavy fire and smoke showing from the building.

 

The Gloucester Fire Department is asking community members to avoid the area as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.

 

Beauport Ambulance transported one person from the scene to Addison Gilbert Hospital.

 

Gloucester firefighters continue to battle the blaze from the outside, taking a defensive approach, with the fire now under control.

 

Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 6, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, Rescue 2 and C3 responded to the scene.

 

Mutual aid is being provided by fire departments in neighboring communities.
