GLOUCESTER – The current state of emergency has necessitated changes within the Gloucester Fire Department, according to Chief Eric Smith. In an interview with MSO News, Chief Smith explains how the department has responded in dealing with “the new reality.” He also mentions his appreciation for how both his department and the community in general have responded to the challenges of COVID-19.
And, he reminds residents of the dangers of outdoor burning and some new effects of outdoor fires in relation to the virus.
