Georgetown High School Recognized for Academic Progress by State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

GEORGETOWN — Superintendent Margo Ferrick is pleased to share that Georgetown High School was named a School of Recognition by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Schools of Recognition are those that demonstrate progress toward annual accountability targets with an emphasis on the performance of all students and the school’s lowest performing student groups.

Progress indicators considered in the school’s accountability report include achievement and growth in various subjects, high school completion, progress toward attaining English language proficiency and other indicators.

From 2023 to 2024, Georgetown High School made 68 percent progress toward improvement targets, marking its progress as substantial. The school is now placed in the 59th accountability percentile. It was previously in the 47th percentile.

“We are immensely proud of the students, families, faculty and staff of Georgetown High School for their dedication and passion for education that has allowed the school to be recognized,” said Superintendent Ferrick. “This is an enormous honor, and we are eager to continue to create an environment where our students flourish.”
