CAPE ANN — The Greater Cape Ann Community Collaborative (GCACC) is pleased to announce that both the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available at the majority of its clinics moving forward.
Initially, the GCACC was primarily awarded doses of the Pfizer vaccine by the state, along with a limited number of Johnson & Johnson doses. Now, both vaccines will be readily available to those who make appointments in advance and walk-ins alike.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer both of these vaccines more widely. The single-dose option makes vaccination accessible and simpler for many, for example those who may be in the process of moving, who are anxious about needles and don’t want to have to get a second shot, or who are simply busy,” Hamilton Public Health Nurse Rachel Lee said.
Both vaccines will be available at weekly clinics at Coolidge Hall in Topsfield from 2-3:30 p.m. as well as at weekly clinics at the Community House in Rockport from 10 a.m. to noon.
Doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may also become available at clinics held weekly at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Ipswich on Mondays from 1-4 p.m. Should both vaccines become available at the weekly Ipswich clinic the GCACC will make an announcement promptly.
The GCACC is also authorized by the MDPH to administer vaccines in other public spaces, and in targeted spaces such as businesses, schools, and houses of worship. Both vaccines will be available for these clinics as well. Local organizations looking to partner with the GCACC can contact Hamilton Public Health Nurse Rachel Lee at 978-290-9618.
