WINTHROP – Salem jumped out to a 13-0 first quarter lead in the game but Winthrop responded with touchdowns in the second and third quarters to tie the game (13-13).The Witches would then grab a fourth quarter lead on a 4-yard run by Devante Ozuna. Later Salem would get the ball back and drive to the Winthrop 20 but could not get a first down on a fourth and two to go. Winthrop took over the ball on downs and two plays later Matt Noonan hit Nick Cappuccio on an 81-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 19, then the extra point was good by George Galuris for the win.
