SWAMPSCOTT – (Photos – Videos) Winthrop trailed 14-0 at the halftime but scored early in the second half and had tied the game by the end of the third quarter (14-14). The fourth quarter began with the Vikings grabbing the game winning touchdown, a 64 yard run by Nick Cappuccio. The victory was sealed with less than a minute to play in the game when Robert Rich intercepted a Swampscott pass on the Winthrop 25 yard line. One week ago, Winthrop led St. Mary’s 14-0 at the half, only to lose 15-14 at Manning Field.
