From Beverly Fire Department Facebook Page: One Person Injured, Pet Rescued in Friday Morning Fire

It has been a particularly busy couple of days for your Beverly Firefighters. In addition to the brush fire on Enon St Wednesday morning, Group 2 also responded to a significant crash involving a commuter rail train and a car Wednesday afternoon. We were very fortunate to have no major injuries as a result of that crash.
This morning, just before 7 am, our dispatchers took a call for a house fire on Berkley Ave. Engine 5 arrived to heavy fire coming from the second floor of an occupied residential home. They confirmed residents had been removed from the home by a neighbor and began an aggressive attack on the fire. Though they had the main body of fire knocked down within minutes, crews from Beverly, Danvers, Hamilton, and Salem worked in difficult conditions to confirm that the fire had not traveled into void spaces in the walls and attic.
One occupant was transported to the hospital with burns and a bird was removed from the home safely by firefighters.
One critical component to the response to all of these emergencies was our tremendous staff of Public Safety Telecommunicators. This week was Public Safety Telecommunicator week and we would be remiss if we didn’t point out the critical role of our fantastic dispatchers. They are the link that gets your emergencies to the right responders. We thank them for all of their service.
