Men’s College Hockey 

Endicott 6, Nichols 1 – The Endicott men’s ice hockey team defeated Nichols,in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Friday night at Levy Rink. Endicott opened the floodgates in the first period as Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.) potted a power-play goal at the 13:15 mark. Later in the frame, Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta) and Kevin Craig (Hyannis, Mass.) both found the back of the net (14:32 | PP — 16:32) and the Gulls were never threatened the rest of the way. Endicott (15-5-5, 12-3-3 CCC) has locked in the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCC Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament. The Gulls will host a semifinal matchup on Saturday, February 24; time and opponent will be determined based on this weekend’s results around the conference.


Women’s College Hockey

Endicott 7, Nichols 0 – The No. 11 Endicott women’s ice hockey team defeated Nichols, on Friday night in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. Prior to puck drop, seniors Sami Barletta (Walpole)Jess Burwell (Hooksett, N.H.)Aurora Devereaux (Scituate)Emmerson Hayes (Los Angeles, Calif.)Quin Healy (Melrose)Melissa Macri (Plymouth, Mass.), and Jenna Seibold (Reading) were all honored for their contributions to the women’s ice hockey program and the College in a pregame ceremony.

Endicott erupted for four goals in the first period and never looked back. Maggie Lynch (Quincy)Samantha Fantasia (Billerica)Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.), and Healy all found their names on the ledger for the Gulls (8:14 | 12:51 | 15:12 | PP — 17:57). Lynch and Hayes both scored in the second period (PP — 4:45 | 11:55), while Hayes netted the final tally in the third at 13:25.

In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) stopped 12 shots in two periods of play (4-8) to improve to 16-4-2 on the season. Endicott registered its seventh shutout of the season. No. 11 Endicott (18-4-2, 15-2-0 CCC) visits Curry Saturday (2/17) at 3 PM.
