Town of Rockport:  Universal Access Nature Trail September 20th site walk and survey

two people walking in the park

As you may know, the Town of Rockport, Office of the Town Administrator, acting in his capacity as the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, has been working with consultants over the past several months on a project to identify and assess areas in Rockport that are appropriate for a “Universal Access Nature Trail. ”  The project aligns with the  recently completed “ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan” which addresses  the physical, programmatic, and digital accessibility of the Town of Rockport.
Through the process, four potential sites have been identified for accessible trails:  Pine Pit Rail Trail/Woodland Acres;   Andrews Woods;  Straitsmouth Way Woodland (across from Kieran Preserve) and Sandpiper Overlook at Cape Hedge Beach.
The planning group would now like input from the public —  and is now inviting everyone (including YOU!!!)  to complete a PUBLIC SURVEY, and take part in a COMMUNITY SITE WALK on Friday, Sept. 20 to view the four sites. Please complete the survey no later than October 31st.  We look forward to your responses and hope to see you a the site walk.
