This is Mayor Mike Cahill with a brief Thursday evening trash and recycling update. Today, Republic Services picked up regular Tuesday customers’ trash. If Republic missed your street today, please e-mail me at mayorcahill@beverlyma.gov and I will try to get a Republic truck to come collect your trash tomorrow.
Also tomorrow, regular Wednesday customers should put your trash only out before 7 AM to be collected tomorrow. No recycling will be collected by Republic until further notice, so please do not put recycling at the curb. We are working with Republic on this issue. Also, no one else except regular Wednesday customers should put anything out at the curb for tomorrow.
Our Fire Department and our DPS team have successfully put out the fire that was discovered in one of the Standley St. compost piles earlier this week, and we are grateful for their outstanding work. Further, Republic has agreed to have the compost and brush piles at Standley St. hauled away starting Monday. Therefore, tomorrow the Standley St. site will again be open from 9 AM – 3 PM for both recycling and yard waste drop-offs.
