Weather History – National Weather Service Boston – On This Day in Weather History: May 31, 1998. One of the more widespread severe weather outbreaks in recent times produced a tornado rated F-1 in Washington, CT, winds as high as 104 mph in Worcester, and golf ball sized hail in Pittsfield.
Mass Transportation – The #SumnerTunnel restoration project weekend work continues this weekend. The Sumner Tunnel/RT-1A will be closed from 11:00pm on 5/31 through 5:00am on 6/3. For project information visit: mass.gov/sumner-tunnel.
