North Shore Community College Three (3) Commencement Ceremonies

Student speakers from Beverly, Wenham, and Winchester

Featuring nearly 700 graduates of the Class of 2023

North Shore Community College, 300 Broad Street, gym, Lynn, MA

10 a.m. Ceremony – Student speaker, Maryann De Thomas De Labarthe, Winchester, will be graduating with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care; Dr. Kiame Mahaniah, Undersecretary of Human Services and former CEO of Lynn Community Health Center will virtually address our 10 a.m. graduates

2 p.m. Ceremony – Margaret Munroe, Wenham, is the Student Speaker and will be graduating with an Associate Degree in Business Administration; Frances Martinez, President & Founder of the North Shore Latino Business Association, will address our 2:00 pm graduates.

6 p.m. Ceremony –  Student speaker Amanda Dias, Beverly, will receive an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts with a Psychology pathway; John D Keenan, JD, President of Salem State University will virtually address our 6:00 pm graduates

Girls Lacrosse – Ipswich beat Manchester-Essex 7-6 with the game winning goal scored by Halle Greenleaf assisted by Carolyn Bailey with 3.8 seconds left. The Tigers were led by Ashton Flather who had 17 saves. The offense was led by Halle Greenleaf (2 goals), Carolyn Bailey (2 goals, 1 assist), Allie Wile (1 goal, 1 assist), Ella Stein and Lyla Greenleaf. Great game!

Girls Tennis – Tha Hamilton-Wenham girls tennis team (15-1, 12-0 CAL) captured their second straight Cape Ann League title with an impressive 5-0 win over a talented Manchester-Essex squad on Thursday. The Generals got impressive wins from both their doubles teams as Sienna Gregory and Abby Simon (#1 doubles) came back from being down 2-5 in the second set win 7-6 (1), 7-6 (2) Second doubles squad of Alle Benchoff and Laynee Wilkins won an impressive three set battle 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Sweeping the singles matches were
Sky Jara 6-2, 6-1
Naomi Provost 6-1, 6-1
Chloe Gern 6-0, 6-0

St. Mary’s SpartansBASEBALL: @smhbb10  (10-6) wins their 6th in a row 8-2 over AC and qualifies for the @MIAA033  tournament. Josh Doney (CG, 4 hits, 2 runs, 8 K) was excellent while Cam McGonagle (3-4, 1 run, 1 RBI), Shea Newhall (2-2, 1 run, 2 RBI) and Michael DeMaino (2-4, 1 run, 2 RBI) led the O.

Pentucket Athletics – HW rallies for 3 runs in the 7th to win it, 8-6.

Beverly Boys Lacrosse – 15-5 win over Gloucester to move to 11-6 on senior night. Seniors Mason Simpson, Gavin Lawrence, James Silva, Connor Smith, and Cam Smith with the shared POG Jacket. All young men have made great contributions to the program!
