Fall Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 pm outside on the grounds of Essex Elementary School. View the Warrant here.  The rain date is Saturday, October 10th.

November 3rd Presidential and State Election

You have 3 Voting Options to cast your ballot in November:

  • In-Person Early Voting  
  • In-Person on Election Day

In-Person Early Voting will be held at Essex Town Hall, 30 Martin St for the November 3rd election from October 17 through October 30 during the following hours:

Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18 10:00 am – 12 Noon
Monday through Thursday, October 19 – 22 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Friday, October 23 No Early Voting
Saturday, October 24 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Sunday, October 25 10:00 am – 12 Noon
Monday through Wednesday, October 26-28 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Thursday, October 29 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Friday, October 30 9:00 am – 12 Noon

Vote By Mail If you decide you would like to vote by mail, you can now apply online. Go to: www.mailmyballotMA.com. If you have previously submitted a vote by mail application for the November election, you do not need to submit another application. Can’t remember if you already applied? Go to: www.trackmyballotMA.com and look it up! Refer to the Track My ballot information below for further details. Paper applications are also being accepted and can be downloaded from the Town Cerk’s webpage. Go to: www.essexma.org. You can email your completed, scanned application to: townclerk@essexma.org, or mail it to Town Clerk, 30 Martin St., Essex, MA 01929 or submit it via the Drop Box. Your ballot will be mailed to you as soon as we receive them from state elections. Please refer to the deadline submission dates in the above table.

Town Hall/Election Drop Box at Town Hall A secure drop box (located under the portico in the front of Town Hall) can be used to submit paper applications as well as return completed ballots. The deadline to submit a paper application via the Drop Box is 3:30 pm on October 28. The deadline to return completed ballots to the Drop Box in order for them to be counted is 8:00 pm on election day, November 3rd.

Track My Ballot If you are voting by mail, you can track your application and ballot by going to: www.trackmyballotMA.com. Applications which have been received for an election but the ballot has not yet been mailed will indicate PENDING. Dates shown are the dates applications and ballots have been mailed out and received back in to Election Officials.
