Essex County D.A. Report: Salem Police Arrest Two Individuals on Drug Trafficking

Report from Essex County District Attorney (Paul Tucker – Salem Police have arrested two individuals and charged them with drug trafficking, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Salem Police Chief Lucas Miller announced Friday.

Bryan Brito, 30, and Sandra Pimental, 58, both of Salem were charged with trafficking in cocaine (more than 200 grams) and trafficking in cocaine (18 grams or more), respectively.

Brito was also charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (handgun), vandalizing property, and possession with intent to distribute class B.

Salem Police responded to a reported “road rage” incident where a firearm was shown.  The investigation led to the identification of Bryan Brito, 2 Chase Street, #1, Salem, MA as the subject with the firearm.

A short time after the incident, Brito was stopped by police upon exiting his residence.  A search warrant was subsequently obtained for his residence by members of the Criminal Investigation Division.

The search resulted in the discovery of nearly two kilograms of suspected cocaine and close to $65,000 in cash belonging to Bryan Brito. The pre-packaged cocaine has an estimated street value of $100,000.  In addition, Sandra Pimental was found to possess approximately 19 grams of suspected cocaine.

Brito and Pimental were arraigned Tuesday in Salem District Court.  Brito was held on $50,000 cash bail and Pimental was released on personal recognizance.
