BEVERLY — The No. 14 Endicott men’s ice hockey team defeated Suffolk, 2-1, in overtime on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) one-timed home his program-leading 14th career game-winner just above the left faceoff circle with 1:12 to play in the extra session.
Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) and Primo Self (Grand Rapids, Mich.) were credited with helpers on the 4-on-3 power play tally.
In the third period, the Gulls evened up the contest in dramatic fashion when Jack Costanzo (Gloucester) potted his fifth goal of the season with 28 seconds remaining in regulation.
Costanzo finished off the greasy goal near the right post after Willett muscled off his defender at the doorstep and kicked the loose puck into scoring space.
Kurapov was also credited with an assist on the 6-on-5 extra skater opportunity thanks to his low left-point shot that was padded down for Willett to clean up in front.
Suffolk controlled the majority of the first two periods, outshooting the Gulls 24-16, with the last shot attempt paying out for the Rams at 19:59 (PP) of the second period.
Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) earned the victory in net (9-3-0, 30-7-5 career) via a 35-save performance.
