Endicott College and Newburyport’s Men’s Tennis Player Christopher Kirkpatrick Named to League All-Star Team – Three Other Gulls Also Tabbed

BEVERLY – The Endicott men’s tennis program saw four of its student-athletes earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference honors on Thursday afternoon, as announced by the league office earlier today. 

Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) claimed All-CCC first team singles accolades, while Justin Toler (Concord, N.H.), Charles Book (Devon, Pa.), and Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) were all selected to the All-CCC third team singles squad. Kirkpatrick and Toler were also honored with All-CCC second team doubles laurels to round out the list of postseason awards for the Gulls. 

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM SINGLES

Kirkpatrick went 5-7 overall and 4-3 in CCC play on the season, all at the No. 1 singles position for Endicott. Notable conference victories at No. 1 singles for Kirkpatrick included Western New England (6-1, 4-6, 10-6), and Roger Williams (6-0, 6-0), while his non-league triumph against Wheaton (2-6, 6-2, 10-4) also stood out.

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM SINGLES

Book currently leads the team in wins this season with an 11-5 record overall/4-3 CCC. The freshman is 2-0 at No. 1, 4-3 at No. 2, 3-2 at No. 3, and 1-0 at the No. 4 and No. 5 flights, respectively.

Meanwhile, Toler has posted an 8-7 record overall and 4-3 showing in conference play. Toler is a 2-1 at No. 1, 2-5 at No. 2, and 4-1 at No. 3 so far this year.

Brent concludes the trio honored by the CCC with a 9-2 overall record, and perfect 6-0 performance in league play. Brent is currently 1-0 at No. 2, 5-0 at No. 4, 1-1 at No. 5, and 2-1 at No. 6. Brent also sports a seven match unbeaten streak headed into this weekend’s CCC Tournament.

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM DOUBLES

Kirkpatrick and Toler went 6-5 overall/1-2 CCC as a doubles pairing this season, all at the No. 1 position.

Endicott (11-7, 5-3 CCC) will travel to Roger Williams this Saturday to play the Hawks in the CCC Tournament quarterfinals at 11 AM.
