BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men’s basketball freshman guard AJ Forte (Peabody) has been named the Conference of New England’s (CNE) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Despite Endicott’s 90-78 loss to Middlebury, Forte was a major bright spot off the bench.
In his 24 minutes of action, the freshman guard drilled seven three-balls (7-8 3PT) and scored a total of 22 points for the Gulls.
His 22 points and seven triples were both career highs. Additionally, his seven three-pointer performance tied him for 10th all-time in program single game history.
Forte joins Marcus Montagnino (Gloucester) as the only two CNE Rookie of the Week recipients across the league this season.
This marks his first career CNE Rookie of the Week award.
