BEVERLY — Endicott men’s basketball forward Marcus Montagnino (Gloucester) has been named the Conference of New England’s (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
In Endicott’s 1-1 week, Montagnino averaged 25.5 pts, eight rebounds, four assists, and 2.5 steals.
On Wednesday, he played a pivotal role in the Gulls’ 91-82 CNE win over Roger Williams. Montagnino led the Gulls with 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals in the victory. His clutch scoring and defense paved the way for the Blue and Green in its third straight win against the defending conference champion Hawks, dating back to 2/6/24.
