BEVERLY — Endicott men’s basketball graduate forward Marcus Montagnino (Glouceste) has been named the Conference of New England’s (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
In Endicott’s 2-0 week (2-0 CNE), Montagnino averaged 22.5 points per game (50.0 FG%), 9.5 rebounds (19 total), 4.5 assists, and 4.0 steals.
In Tuesday’s 90-85 come-from-behind overtime road CNE win against Nichols, Montagnino filled the stat sheet with 30 points (11-22 FG, 1-4 3PT, 7-9 FT) and compiled 13 rebounds, five assists, and seven steals. With the two teams tied at 79 with just under two minutes left in overtime, the Gloucester, Mass. native scored nine of Endicott’s final 11 points
He followed up with another stat-sheet-stuffing performance on Saturday as he scored 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block in another road win, this time against Gordon 89-84 on Saturday.
This marks Montagnino’s fourth career CNE Player of the Week award (1/6/25, 1/13/25, and 1/21/25).
Additionally, this is the seventh CNE Rookie of the Week award he has received this season (11/18/24, 11/25/24, 12/9/24, 1/6/25, 1/13/25, and 1/21/25).
