Drought Eases – Gloucester Still Under Water Usage Restrictions

City of Gloucester Drought Update 🚨

📉 Current Drought Level: Level 1 – Mild Drought
The East Reservoir System (Babson & Goose Cove) is at 98% capacity, and the West Reservoir System (Dykes, Wallace & Haskell) is at 83%. We typically switch to the West system around mid-June.
🌧️ While recent rainfall has improved conditions and the Central region has returned to normal, parts of the state still face dry conditions. Let’s continue to conserve water as we enter the growing season.
🔹 Water Restrictions (per MassDEP & City Ordinance Section 23-60):
• Outdoor watering, including lawn and gardens, is limited to one day per week, only between 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM.
• Watering of vegetable gardens and crops is allowed as needed.
