NORTH SHORE – In an interview with MSO News Friday, Dr. Jill Tarter of The SETI Institute spoke with Rick Moore about how she knew as an eight-year old that she wanted to be an engineer; and how curiosity, problem-solving skills, rebuilding an old computer, and hard work were part of what helped her along the path to becoming one of the world’s best-known astronomers in her search for an answer to the question “Are we alone?”.
Doctor Tarter also downplays the famous “Wow! signal”; explains the solar system’s recent inter-stellar visitor, Ouamuamua, and has a stern message for those who dismiss science.
